HISTORY

Marvic Textiles was founded in 1938 by Victor Afia, father of the present owner, Peter Afia.

In the 1960's the company became a leading specialist in luxury woven fabrics such as Genoa velvets, damasks and brocades. At that time good fabrics were in short supply and much use was made of Marvic's white failles, ottomans and silk noils; some are still favourites today!

Other great successes were toiles de Jouy of which Marvic remains a market leader and Regency-style linen moiré stripes and plains which are still widely used both in the domestic and contract markets.

Today we aim to offer superb fabrics with integrity of quality, colour and design using high grade natural fibres such as silk, linen and cotton.

STYLE & RANGE

The range embraces a wide variety of styles from timeless classics with a contemporary twist to cutting-edge, textured neutrals for the home and dazzling silk sheers and embroideries.

DESIGN STUDIO

Started in 1986, the Marvic design studio has expanded the variety and versatility of the range to include popular upholstery fabrics and wonderful collections of historic prints developed from the company's extensive archive of original documents.

HISTORIC HOUSES

Marvic takes great pride in its involvement in designing special fabrics for famous historic houses such as Buckingham Palace, Chatsworth, Holyrood Palace and Althorp.

CONTRACT PROJECTS

Marvic has a long history of supplying fabrics for prestigous, international 5-star hotels such as (The Lanesborough, The Bristol, Peninsula Beverly Hills, Four Seasons Hotels and Ritz Carlton Hotels). We can reproduce historic designs or modify the colours or qualities of current Marvic designs to meet the particular specifications of a project. With all our operations (design, purchasing, warehousing, sales, etc) under one roof, we are able to be flexible and react quickly to customer requirements.
